Sounds right on to me. I agree with you about Yank lager microbreweries often not getting something quite right, which brings to mind a question. What's worse: modern, tiny, American breweries not getting lager quite right, resulting in a lack of malt complexity, or modern, tiny, Teutonic breweries not getting lager quite right, resulting in bland, murky, unfinished-tasting crap?
