Reinheitsgebot (Deutsche CAMRA)

Most german drinkers assume they are protected by the Reinheitsgebot aka purity law (which is of course utter rubbish, as it doesn't protect them from breweries being taken over and brewery closures, and other things that limit the consumer's choice. Actually, the purity law is a limiting factor for breweries who want to go off the beaten paths). But there are some developments, off-shoots of the Bier-Sommelier education schemes (think Doemens). It is a good thing however that the Bier-Sommelier training also goes beyond the Reinheitsgebot (although I feel there is still some learning curve to be overcome)
