Yobbishness in Manchester |

Robbie's yeast bugs me. At least when I've had it. Well then now that I think of it, there have been a couple I've liked, and that Old Tom is impressive, though dangerous. http://www.frederic-robinson.co.uk/beers/draught.html shows a couple I've never had (we stayed a few nights in a Robbies Inn in Lancaster in 2009 and we've been to a great old Robbies CAMRA pub in Manc a couple of times), specifically the Old Stockport and the Hatters. Those would indeed be just the thing for me! I think it was the Dizzy Blonde that disappointed, the yeast just clashing with the hops in some way. Same for the Unicorn IIRC. Have to give them another go! When I was in Stockport, I wanted to check both the Crown Inn and the Pineapple (Robbies) out but just didn't have time. Erm...when I mentioned walking through the smoke I meant that smoke from the fires in Salford. I presume you mean something else...? |
