| Pelikan has dropped Guinness and is serving Mönchsambacher Lager in its place. An big improvement, in my mind. There is a rumor from a very good source (not Frank W) that Mahrs will stop serving from gravity this summer and all beers will be from kegs as it is in the garden. I would hope that the U at least would be from graviity but supposedly that is not the case. Zapfhahn is still decent but I am a little worried they may be more interested in food rather than beer. I had one Hölzotlein I had to send back because it was really not very good. It tasted more like a line problem than a brewing problem (and the beer in Lohndorf was fine). Still giving them the benefit of the doubt -- we'll see when they have been open for a year. And they stiill have Griess in the wrong place on their map (and a couple other errors). |
