| Depends on the origin of a given "Brit." There's a difference in how the word "glass" is pronounced in different parts of England, for instance; in some parts, it's more like "glahss" (Germanic short a), in others like "glass" (American short a, not quite like the Germanic umlaut-a, a very "flat" short-a sound, and I ain't gonna go into phonetic terms like rounded/unrounded, close/open, and front/back, no sir, just won't do it). |
