Or wonderful Windischeschenbach! Just back from our 3 week study trip - sorry holiday. I can't speak highly enough of this place, absolutely fantastic, an experience of a lifetime. I wondered whether it was really worth going there for 3 weeks but the decision was absolutely vindicated for both self and spouse. Firstly, the beer, which is what this site is about: I've now been in all but two of the Zoigl stube in W. and they and their beers are all different, unique and, generally, charming. Likewise Neuhaus, where I'm missing only 2 (but I had the beer of one of these). Secondly, and probably, more important, the people - some of the nicest, friendliest and most hospitable people that it has been my pleasure to meet. Everywhere, people were helpful, wanting to talk (although my German is very limited and English is not that widely spoken). The weather was mostly great and there is a super freibad, which, like everything in W. is fantastic value for money at €3 a visit (Zoigl is invariably €1.60 a halb). Got to be shown round the kommunbrauhaus by Gunter Zimmerman of Zum Post whilst he was brewing - extremely pleasant and helpful man, who thanked me for visiting W! I guess that I can now answer most questions about W/N for those who are interested and would most definitely recomend a visit. But don't go for a day or 2 like most, try at least a week, which is the least time that is really needed to get the atmosphere. I'll try to put something together about the different stube, beers, etc., in the next few days - that is after I've recovered!
