US vs British English 'on'

British: The prices are up 30% on last year's USA: The prices are up 30% over last year's OR The prices are up 30% from last year's OR The prices are up 30% compared to last year's The difference is a small one, but the "on" construction in this type of comparative is much more likely to be heard/seen in British than USAmerican English.
