Bamberg -several places not open

No, I haven't been to the two places you mentioned. Have you been to the Beer Temple in Amsterdam? It's not a brewpub, but the interior is very modern, while typical Amsterdam pubs tend to be old-fashioned and brown (for example: 't Smalle or Papeneiland - you can see interior photos on Ron P. pub guide site). So, a modern interior would be the main hallmark?
