Forgot about those 'wit' beers but I've never been a great fan of any kind of wheat beers. Did quite like Hoegaarden when I tasted it first but got fed up with it in the end. Not sure whether that was because it changed or simply that it had a sort of blandness that palled after a while. Re who actually brews Blue Moon - their website shows a mastery of obfuscation. It's impossible to tell who actually brews the stuff among the welter of (mis?) information about the foundation of the company by a gang of dedicated beernuts and biogs of their brewers, most of which means absolutely nothing. I presume that Coors are behind it all? However, in the heel of the hunt, I suppose it's no different to drinking any other highly marketed beer brewed by a conglomerate and it is a bit of change from Diageo's products. And, I suppose, few of us are going to give up driving our Fords, Toyotas, VWs and Renaults in exchange for a kit car? Roll on Franken! |
