Knoblach in Schammelsdorf |

When I went there after hearing the raves from the Coloradoans about how insanely hoppy Knoblach's beer was, I found it well bittered, but not particularly *hoppy*. Remember, we Yankee beer geeks tend to distinguish between hop bitterness and hoppiness (flavour &/or aroma). Maybe you're remembering me saying that it wasn't as hoppy as claimed by others, but I don't know if anyone's said that it was husky or astringent from mashing gone awry, which is something to be found in other fränkische Brauereien. Remember (not just you, Barry, I had to memorise this too): Knoblach in Schammelsdorf (Litzendorf) Witzgall in Schlammersdorf (Hallerndorf) |
