Remember, I even suggested that you didn't have to feel obligated to finish all the beers -- prescience! There is a Kitzmann "house character", basically sweetness, that is fairly minimal in the Rotbier, thank goodness. Yes, Schanzenbräu's Rotbier would make a good comparison. Have to wait til next spring though, now the Kitzmann's all gone. That Sam Smith's price is for an imported beer though, remember. I've no idea what a bottle of Taddy Porter costs in the US these days, nor in the UK. And there's no difference in pronunciation between "ss" and "ß". What we were discussing was how pronunciation of the preceeding vowel determines the use of an ß or ss in this modern, post-spelling-reform world. |
