Die Mass vs Das Maß |

| The closest approximations I can think of for a Bostonian would be the short u in hurry for Die Mass, and the ar in car for the long a in Der Maß. Not that you need to know about Maß in Franconia as stated earlier. Google pronounces both spellings with a long a, so I guess they haven't gotten round to implementing the 1996 spelling reform. |
