Well since Barry is using Keller (a German word obviously), it would have to be; "in einem schoenen Fraenkischen Keller" in einem (no movement therefore Dativ) der Keller (Masculine + Dativ therefore 'em' ending) and thereafter 'en' (just because that's the rule). A good way of understanding the difference between the Akkusativ and Dativ cases can be described by Keller visits. "Ich gehe auf deN Keller" (I'm going to the Keller) - masculine therefore der (Keller), movement toward (Akk) = den. OR "Ich bin auf dem Keller" (I am on the Keller) - masculine, no movement (Dativ) = dem. "Ich gehe in die Stadt" vs "Ich bin in der Stadt". Same principle apples. Of course you need to know your grammar tables for the different inclinations and relation to the cases. |
