There are plenty of things people get wrong, grammatically. I was being facetious when I said otherwise above. Improper verb order with "weil" as you note, als/wie, past tenses of a few irregular verbs, or anything you can fish out of the famous book "Dem Dativ ist dem Genetiv sein Tod". People that have a more ...shall we say... rural background sometimes appear to be challenged with plurals in dative. And Franconians are supposedly especially known for mixing up dative & accusative at times that don't occur in other dialects. The accountant lady at my school used to say she often had to think of whether it was dem or den Bauer (farmer) for some reason. And that that is supposedly typisch fränkisch. My main teacher, ein Hamburger, told me about how he had trouble understanding people when he was new here, and he often taught classes for Germans who need to improve their German. (Specifically convicts at the jail here.) I would imagine there might be as many things Germans get wrong in German as there are that other people get wrong in their own languages. |
