German TV

I did say I'm (at least fairly) ignorant of British TV. But what documentaries I see exhibit the same sort of camera wankery as I see with American ones, from the likes of National Geographic, if to a lesser extent. Compared to German public TV documentaries, American ones are nearly unwatchable, but BBC ones aren't so bad. IME.

I suspect you don't notice it because you're used to it, whereas I've gotten used to German public TV.

And when I mentioned the exceptions, I meant the kind of thing you're talking about: scrolling through the commercial channels and seeing all the crap. It's the public TV that's of a different calibre.
