| Cant believe Im reading this. Theres never been a better time to be a beer drinker in the UK. I live in the North East which 35 years ago was a real ale desert. Now there are around 20 microbreweries/brewpubs in the area, all producing an excellent range of beers. Whilst some of the more outre brews are not to my taste, most of them produce an excellent session beer far superior to anything on offer from the regional breweries like Marstons or Greene King. And if the 7% Chocolate IPA gets someone into a pub who would previously have drunk Foster's at home, then Im not going to knock it. As for 'Spoons, great for breakfast, or if youre unlucky enough to be in a town without a decent pub(are there any?), but they aint real pubs. |
