Franconian beer is the best value.

It was so funny -- all the people in Bamberg were complaining about how expensive the beer was (at 1.90 Euros for 1/2 liter). We thought that was the best deal in world (ok Frank, the best deal in the Universe!) until we got into the countryside. Makes me kind of upset to pay $4.50 for not quite 16oz here in LA.
