Brauerei Schrüfer in Priesendorf

Well since Hall. Trad. was released to growers in 1991 (available to brewers some time after that), I'd guess that he's already changed hops at least once. Hall Trad was a replacement for Hersbrucker, itself a replacement for Hall. Mittelfreuh. Interesting tho that Americans are buying his hops. American varieties have gotten very good at matching Euro noble hops. A local brewer swears that Vanguard is indistinguishable from Hall. Mitt. Santiam is supposed to be as good as Tettnang. Russian River's all-Santiam beer was quite tasty last spring. So maybe the Schruefer brewer should turn the tables and buy American Vanguard! Hey, some English brewers are using Cascade hops in their bitters.
