Bamberg here we come!

Thanks Jos. So, you mention 'Bamberg area': what would you recommend that we do in the area around Bamberg? Could you recommend 2 or 3 places that we should go to or things that we should do near the city? Thanks too for the hotel tip - how did I know that someone would suggest a hotel in a brewery?:) Mind you, as the trip is for my birthday, I can choose the lodgings!! So, what are the best brewery hotels that folk here would recommend in Bamberg? I would prefer something central in the city. Cheers J
