Getting to Kaiserdom

Is Kaiserdom within walking distance of Bamberg town centre. On my map it looks like about 2 miles further along Ober Sandstr. Any pubs along this road to break the journey, I wonder? Last time in Bamberg I couldn't find any Kaiserdom pubs...but they had a big presence at the Sandkerwa, I recall. Thanks, Mike
