Crazy Swedes--got it all backwards! :) Seriously though, when I've discussed the Rauchverbot with non-smokers here, they've almost universally expressed the concern that it's "gone too far", that it's "not fair" to smokers. They don't seem to care that they themselves no longer suffer from being in a smokey place. I think, possibly, this attitude is the result of having spent their entire lives in smokey places, and never having been able to enjoy smoke-free places. Thus, they don't have any appreciation for how nice it is, to NOT be constantly stunk up by the filthy habits of others around them. Those of us (foreigners) who grew up with seperate smoking areas have a different appreciation for the difference. We'll see in time though, as they get used to enjoying clean air, if they won't then appreciate their new cleanliness. [Insert stereotype about German cleanliness!] But you're forgetting, Gunnar, that these Franken simply consume their beer. They don't fret about tasting it or not. They drink their habitual brand, because that's what they've always done, and what they always will do! ;) I last heard that over 30% of men smoke, and 25% of women do.
