Schanzenbräu in Nürnberg

Sorry, Jürgen, I couldn't wait. I was in the neighborhood yesterday (Conrad Electronic!) so I stopped in. I love the *place*, and yes, the beer ain't bad. I didn't try a Rotbier though, "just" a Helles, Schwarzes, and Bock. And get this--there's *Belgian* beer in the bottle too. Amazing for Franconia, I think. Okay, "only" St. Louis Geueze and Kriek, but still, this is something quite unique for this country. Of course I haven't seen the brewery, so I don't know what sort of equipment it is, but I would not put Schanzenbräu in the same category of "modern kit brewpubs" like Steinbach, Barfüßer, et. al., since Schanzenbräu's beer is not the same murky, unfinished crap as they produce, rather, properly finished Lagerbier, if at the same time a bit...we'll discuss it in person. See you on Monday then! ~5 PM?
