You'd need a TagesTicketPlus for 10+ zones --which is actually good for the entire VGN region-- for 14,70 €. http://vgn.de/produkte/preistabellen/gesamtraum_bartarif is the table of prices by zone (Stufe) and http://vgn.de/media/static/tarif_gesamt.pdf is the bewildering zone plan for the whole region. Good luck using that to determine EXACTLY how many zones a given trip will cross though. I guess it ain't that complicated, but man, there's a lot of info there. Better and quicker to determine the zones by the journey planner http://vgn.de/komfortauskunft/auskunft/ which has a very nice (IMO) map function to select specific bus/U-Bahn/S-Bahn/etc. stops ("aus Karte Wählen" to the right of the text boxes). This will give you the price level ("Tarifstufe") under the "Fahrpreise", which you can click to find prices for the various sorts of tickets for that level. At the new (in the last 2-3 years anyway) Ticketautomats, choose the "VGN" application, enter your destination, and choose what sort of ticket you want. Looking at the prices, you see that there's a TackesTicketSolo as well as a TagesTicketPlus for the short trip (within a zone) and 2-zone price levels, but not for the higher price levels. Pity for the solo travelers.
