| Schluesselfeld appears to be the black hole in Kreis Bamberg since its breweries seem adverse to self-promotion, despite their proximity to the A-3. I recently stopped at the Sternbraeu and was pleasantly surprised. Two wonderful beers (Lager and Fest) and perhaps the best Schinkenteller I have eaten anywhere in Germany (from their own pigs, "eigene Schlachtung"). The 1960-70s setting wasn't especially appealing but once you took a seat everyone was very friendly. Does anyone have any recent experience with the other brewery, Brauerei zum Adler; i.e., do they still brew? |
