I would put a communal brewery in a bit different category -- that is more shared equipment and a more complete product is produced. A couple of village communal breweries (non-commercial) that I have visited they even did the primary there and then the young beer was transfered to barrels after a week and aged individually. Also these brewers and the labmic blenders are open about what they do. It bothers me a little that this is done more secretly. |
