| I've learned that the Forchheim-based system is about as good as one could hope--though I've not used it myself, I've just spoken with them about on the phone. I think I wrote it up on Fred's "How to get there wiki" thing at the top of the message board page for the Kreuzberg. I assume the Bamberger one works the same way, but I see know mention of one in Bamberg at vgn.de. You call the number and arrange for a collection at a given bus stop outside service hours. It's not immediate though, you have to accept the (regularly scheduled?) collection time they give you. And the fare is the bus fare plus a surchage, but still a lot less than a regular taxi fare would be. |
