Gerhard, you're being too modest. The 'R' is actually more interesting than "radio": Rundfunk ("broadcasting"). 'Southwest Rundfunk' has a very catchy ring to it, if you ask me. ;) Funky. Question for you: If it was only a radio broadcaster, not also a TV broadcaster, would they also call it "Rundfunk"? I mean, in the US, the "National Broadcasting Company" originated as a radio company under the name "Radio Corporation of America". Then with television, they took the "Broadcasting" name. Just wondering about the difference. How German TV is organised is interesting to me, as a Yank. It's kind of "inverted": the original organisation is public, with private (commercial) broadcasters being a new thing. In the US, TV originated with commercial broadcasters, originally with radio. Public TV in Germany is much more important than in the US. I've collected quite a few shows about beer and brewing (not just in Franconia) with my DVR's here. Almost too many to watch. ObBeer: The newest bottling of Griess is exceptionally good.
