5-Seidla-Steig, Rauch-Kellerbier, Bamberger Beer War

An article in this weekend's Erlangen paper features Drei Kronen in Memmelsdorf and specifically explains that the brewery's "Stöffla" is (or was) the area's first Kellerbier with Rauchmalz. Is that true? It also explains that Kellerbier is "ungespundetes Lagerbier", but doesn't say anything about being lagered in or served at a Keller. Obligatory mention of the Guinness book record of four breweries in one small "community" of four villages (Aufseß) is also made, and then the 5-Seidla-Steig around Gräfenberg, with the question posed: Where else can someone visit 5 brewery taverns along a 15 km walk? (My answer would be "Portland!", of course, but ok, that's in the city, not in the country. Same goes for Bamberg.) The Stadtbrauerei Spalt in Spalt is the last remaining communal brewery in the whole country --in the owned-by-the-people sense, not the brewed-in-communaly-Zoiglbier sense, being owned by the citizens and having the mayor as manager. Finally, the Bamberger Beer War of 1907 is mentioned. The breweries raised their prices from 10 to 11 pence per Seidla, whereupon the citizenry "rebelled", and a few sympathetic publicans contracted to have beer delivered from Forchheim and sold it at the old price. The war lasted a week. That story is also told in the Bierfilm, of course. http://www.nordbayern.de/nuernberger-nachrichten/region-bayern/franken-ist-das-bierland-der-weltrekorde-1.245127?searched=true (German only) Not the worst piece on Bier I've seen in the paper.
