Trains from Frankfurt

One thing to consider about the cheap DB fares. If your flight is late in to Frankfurt and you miss the train, you can usually hop on the next southbound ICE. But you might be charged full fare. My preferred air route to Bamberg from England is Manchester-Frankfurt (FlyBe or Lufthansa). Then I usually get the ICE train to Nuremberg and stop overnight before making my way "up country".
