I went to Barnikel in Hernsdorf today for lunch. Interesting place. Very down to earth. Few customers on this monday, but one person came in with her dog, and when I was leaving, I was greated by 3 cats at the door. I like animals; reminds me of Belgium. As for the beers: Lagerbier and Bockbier vom Fass. Lagerbier was kind of bland, with a touch of diacetyl, but still OK. The Dunkel (bottle) was nice, with some roasty notes, like a Schwarzbier. The Bockbier was very, very good: dry and very hoppy at 7.5% abv. I ate Pfefferkarpfen which was very tasty with a gem. salat. 3 beers and food for Euro 12.50. Bus 983 from and to Bamberg. Euro 3.70 each way.
