OT - visit to Belgium

I think that many forum members are also members of the BBB but, for those who are not, maybe someone can answer following. I am considering an apparently outlandish solution to the accommodation problem in Belgium - a youth hostel! Outlandish considering that the last time that I stayed in an 'auberge de jeunesse' was 40 years ago. Does anyone have any experience of the HI hostels in Belgium, specially the one in Brussels? Are the double rooms and ambience suitable for aged (but youthful in mind) beer lovers? Thanks if you can (or can't).
