How Many Breweries? Italy

Just got an email back from Lorenzo.... "Checking the not to be missed and costantly updated website www.microbirrifici.org currently in Italy there are 352 small breweries (micros and brewpubs)- This impressive number is rowing day by day:-) Why? Because homebrewers and beerlovers are getting the European funds to found their microbreweries and brewpubs. Furthermore a new law allows some micros to be called "Birrificio Agricolo" (agriculural or farm-breweries) getting public money." My guess is nobody at the newspaper even thought about checking Italy. :)
