Rittmayer as a place to stay

If you guys stay at Rittmayer, I would love to hear a report. Looks like it would be a very good location for getting to the Kreuzberg and Witzgall, among other places. It seems you would need a car or taxi to get to Rittmayer from a train station though (?).
