IT's also very useful for me because I have relatives in Switzerland, travelling there through Germany twice a year. But to give an example: For my next trip to/in Germany I bought 3 Sparpreis tickets, Leiden - Freyburg (near Naumburg, Sachsen-Anhalt); Freyburg - München, (München - Lauda with Bayern-ticket), Lauda - Leiden via Nidda (Hessen). Total reduction € 38,25. You collect points whenever you buy a ticket with your card, I got the Bayern ticket in exchange for points saved, so more or less for free. So two of those trips and it's already worth it.
