Excessive Carbonation |

Yes, of course but, as you say, it doesn't improve the taste. Interesting about Keesmann Pils being better in Abseits - I would suggest that Gerhard cares a lot more for the condition of his beers than Frau 'Keesmann' (if that's what she's called). It simply amazes me that so many lovely Franken breweries half-destroy their beer by poor dispensing methods, which is one of the reasons why I really like Mahrs U (sorry to revert to your bete-noir). Even in Aichinger, you'll recall that the beer was quite gassy - just down to lack of attention to detail. I was really pleased to find this piece because I always thought that the taste was affected by excessive added CO2 and that it was not just a case of a fanatic CAMRA-type being obsessed with English real ale. |
