Deposits

Perhaps interesting: The brewery Zehendner in Mönchsambach will change their "deposit policy". Stefan Zehendner has bought brown beer crates (cases?) (to distinguish them from the existing red beer crates) and will require a deposit in the future. (The regular deposit in Germany is 1,50 € for a empty crate,. 3,10 € for a full crate). The old crates will be recycled (fragmented and melted) by the enterpise who make such crates..

The price of a new crate is high (value: around 7,50 € for a full crate). So he has to make a big investment for the new crates. But without a deposit he loose money with each crate that doesn't come back. Also in the future he (and all other breweries) loose money if the crates doesn't come back. But more customers will bring back the crates if they have paid a deposit.
