I agree about the schedule, it is ridiculous and I'm not sure would be that enjoyable. How can you actually enjoy different beers when you're pouring it down your throat like it's going out of fashion. I hope they are aware that Buttenheim train station is a 30 minute walk from the taps for a start, nevermind that beer tours of Amberg and Regensberg aren't exactly quick hops off the train, nor is Sulzach Rosenberg (steep uphill one way).

This sort of activity makes me wonder what these people actually get out of it, aside from being able to say to some other saddo that they've had 10k+ different beers, not even having stayed long enough in a given gasthof to note much more than the beer they guzzled. I've always maintained that the best Franconian beer, whilst an excellent product, is made so wonderful by the Kellers, the villages, the locals, the atmosphere and the culture that pervades every sensory gland when spending time in this part of the world. It's something of a tradgedy that this itinerary leaves no time for such frivolous behaviour when another notch can be added to the bed post. Their loss and my 2 pence worth.
