An intereresting side effect of Californa alcohol laws was you had to buy a "meal" before you could buy beer (an order of fries wouldn't count)
 

Huh? No food at the Toronado, for one thing, and I don't recall ever being required to get a Wurst from next door before getting a drink there. Or am I missing something?

For clarity's sake, I've only had latter-day Marston's Ringwood beers.
