Gaustadt to Bischberg

... and I've answered privately too. Basics: you won't have regular public transport after 7pm, but you can use the AST (Anruf-Semmel-Taxi) as a supplement. The walk from Gaustadt to Bischberg takes maybe half an hour more or less, maybe longer if you're not going at a good trot. The path is pedestrian-useful.

Bischberg, like Bamberg, is partly situated in a river valley, but if you go off the main road through town, away from the river, you immediately go uphill. If you walking into neighboring Viereth for a beer, that's a flat path as well. It's a bit more interesting if you hike down to Weiher, but Kundmüller's beers are good.

The other problem, really, is trusting the spring weather.

If you want to stay outside of Bamberg, why not somewhere where transport isn't quite as much of an issue? There are a couple in Hirschaid, so that would put paid to worries about transport after 7pm.

Or why not stay in Bamberg, but just a little farther out? There are a couple of apartments not terribly far from Café Abseits. If my evenings were to end with nightcaps there, that would be a Very Good Thing.
