| This is only slightly OT because it concerns Gerhard and Abseits. During our visit in September, Nick, J. and self attended a nice event at Abseits (my first meeting with Gerhard), where we met Gernot Wildungsmauer of the Zoigl Brewery in Kaufbeuren. Gernot uses a Speidel Microbrewery and, by chance, my homebrewer supplier is the agent for Speidel in Ireland. You can read an account of a visit to Kaufbeuren on their website (http://www.homebrewwest.ie/homebrew-news-22-w.asp), scroll down to 'August 11 Visit To Speidel Microbrewery In Memmingen, Munich'. It makes quite interesting reading and their is a fetching picture of Gernot, etc. Gernot is quite fanatical about Zoigl (even more so than me), so I excused him for taking the name in vain. Might try and fit in a visit to Kaufbeuren in August (away days seem to be potentially mounting up). |
