Sanitizing bottles

I used to use the oven as well at 300 deg F. But I was using crown cap, not swing lock so no rubber to worry about. I would bake the bottles in advance, covering the mouth with a bit of foil so they would stay santized for a while. Then I realized I wasn't using the oven much for cooking and just left the bottles in the cold oven.

I also used to run them thru the dishwasher (no soap -- and especially no "Jet Dry" -- the rinsing aid). The bottles had to be clean first but the steam and the heat of drying did a good job.
