German Beers Day

The Day of German Beer is a bit closer to what der Tag des deutschen Bieres means, if you want your nits picked (that "s" is a genetive/possessive one, not a plural one). Should be a lovely day for it, and me stuck with a very slight head cold thanks to 12 hours spent in flying machines the other day!

Thanks for the reminder though, I shall endeavour to drink something locally-brewed, maybe even something aside from my own Hausgebrautes (which is, of course, brewed according to the Reinheitsgebot von 1516 -- no Irish moss, no silicon foam stabiliser, no priming sugar!). Be sure to remind everyone you encounter that the Reinheitsgebot was loosened up a few decades after enactment to re-allow all manner of spices, and stayed so for x decades or centuries before being tightened up again. And that the current one allows for all kinds of nasty stuff to be used to cheapen the beer that old King Whosits would never have dreamt of.

Did you make it to Roppelt's?

Prost, etc.!
