OT: Data Execution Prevention

Has anyone come across this annoying little Microsoft problem?  Started a few weeks ago, when I'm on the net (in Explorer), after a couple of changes, I get this message saying:

'Internet Explorer is not working. A problem caused the programme to stop working correctly. Windows will close the programme and notify you if a solution is available.
Close programme.'

So, you click the close programme box - sometimes Explorer closes down altogether, sometimes it reopens it. You can do this several times before, eventually, it gives up the ghost.  When it finally closes, you get a notice saying (something like 'Closed under Data Exection Prevention to protect data on the computer'.

I've used Explorer for years (everyone says it's rubbish but I prefer to all the others I've tried) and it only started happening recently.  The Help section gaives a lot of information about it being a security feature and to only use sights whih are cleared for Data Exection Prevention but how do you find this out?  (this sight is one of the more problematical!)

I went on to Microsoft's help sight and found someone else had the same problem.  Microsoft advised to reinstall but that didn't work or to run their security scanner but that it didn't work either!

Anyone got any ideas?
