Yeah I don't think there's anything wrong with using the calendar ...... except that it means someone will have to remember to move the dates each year.  The idea of having a list linked on the Wiki page is that you can have a static list (that only has to get updated once in a great while) that lists the beer events their location and the approximate time of year they occur.  Less maintenance. For example: Day of Beer - Bamberg - Usually 3rd weekend of April (check this website for details) Annafest - Forccheim - Usually starts last weekend of July into first week of August (website link) ... and so on.
