Busses Bamberg - Lichtenfels (instead of train)

Thanks Gerhard.  I've been looking pretty closely at this business, as I would like to stay in Ebensfeld.  In actual fact, the replacement bus is actually better than the train, although it takes a bit longer!  The reason?  As Nick commented, it stops right in the middle of Ebing, near Der Schwan, also in Ebensfeld Ortsmitte, so saving a walk to the station! As it stands, we're going to stay in Buttenheim Stadt for a couple of weeks (taking in the day(s) of Tages des Bieres) and then for a couple of weeks in Ebensfeld.  This should allow for visits to a fair spread of Stub'n und Kellern - just hope for good weather.
