I haven't found a Facebook page for the Erlkönig in Bamberg. Do You mean this page for the Erlkönig in Erlangen, a bar and nightclub? https://www.facebook.com/ErlkoenigBarklub/?fref=ts In Erlangen this name makes sense. Erl = Erlangen, so Erlkönig is the king of Erlangen. I have not found any information, if this pub in Erlangen is connected with the Erlkönig in Bamberg. But it makes sense, because the name Erlkönig doesn't make sense in Bamberg. And the logos are similiar but a little bit different. Erlkönig is a famous ballad of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. The name Erlkönig is a adoption from the danish word Ellerkonge. In German we say Elfenkönig, the king of the elves. Today "Erlkönig" is also a word for new cars, in a phase of tests. They drive on streets similar to the horseman Erlkönig of the ballad ("through night and wind"). Official photos of the car doesn't exist and journalists try to get such photos. |
