OT: craft breweries in Ireland |

Among all the talk about the growth of so-called craft breweries (may be defined as micro breweries who keg beer rather than serve it cask conditioned), just before We departed for the Overlaps, I heard the latest figures for Ireland. It was reported that sales from craft breweries are up in the last year: from 1.5% to 2% of the total beer market! Does this represent a breakthrough for craft brewers? It seems not. Actually, I can't envisage any form of beer seriously challenging the stranglehold of Guiness products and all the ersatz lagers and cider. |
