I prefered the Roppelt as Hausbräu when I had it, often drier, better hop expression, less chance of Diacetyl. But what both, Witzgall & Roppelt, links is their rather light malt body (compared to the common Franconian palette) with more outspoken yeast presence, which I quite enjoy. Also rather bitter without approach Knoblach bracingness. Never cycled yet, but can't wait to change that.
