Excursions with 9 euro ticket

Also, close to Regensburg, is Kelheim. I have visited there a few times, and think it is a hidden jewel. I don't know the bus route, but have taken the bus there more than once.
Schneider Weisse (delicious wheat beers);
Kloster Weltenburg (via the ship, or if driving, the ferry, georgeous cathedral, excellent beers, pricier);
Brauerei & Gasthaus Frischeisen (good beer & food).
Up the canal a few kilometers in Essen is a different Scheider brauerei/gasthaus.
Other attractions:
At the top of the hill, the Befreiungshalle Monument; spectacular;
At the bottom of the hill, the Orgelmuseum, with several old pipe organs, in a very old church; the attendent played a couple of them for us, the only two there at the time;
It's worth an overnight stay; I've stayed at the Dormero Hotel (very modern), and Gasthof Bertzl (recommended).
Nice walking area.
