| No more gems anywhere in this area. The third Hösl-Brauerei (pretty run down, interesting rural Zoigl) closed a few years ago. So did also the Pirker Brauerei (average Bier). The "semi-franconian" Brauerei Riedl in Plößberg (10 miles south-east of Windischeschenbach is worth a detour! If You want to cross the czech border You will find in Chodová Planá the pretty upmarket Chodovar brewery with several cozy watering holes and a very decent hotel. B.t.w.: It was me who gave Steve Thomas the hint to add Hösl Rothenstadt to his supplements… ;-) |
